Another year is almost coming to an end, and as always, it’s time to look back, collect my thoughts, and try to make sense of everything.
This year, the music community was hit with a major loss with the passing of a dear friend and Möller Records partner, Árni Grétar, known to most as Futuregrapher. Árni was one of the most generous people I have ever known. He was always ready to give, whether it was his time, energy, or encouragement, and he never hesitated to cheer others on when they needed it most. He will be deeply missed by many. To honor his memory, Möller Records put together a compilation album, Farewell Futuregrapher, dedicated to his life, work, and contribution. My contribution was the song “Hrafnar,” the Icelandic word for ravens, Árni’s favorite bird, as he once told me.
In between music collaborations and composing for TV and film, I worked on my ninth full-length album, titled RURAL. RURAL is an eight-track album, a nostalgic tribute to the rhythms of rural life and a love letter to those who have shaped me, inspired me, loved me, and taught me with kindness.
Performing at the FIMU Music Festival in France alongside my good friend Gašper Selko, aka X.U.L, was definitely one of the highlights of the year. It was an incredible experience that I am deeply grateful for.
We played three shows in the city of Belfort at spectacular venues, in front of an amazing audience. If you’re looking to attend a great festival next year that showcases a wide range of music and artists from all over the world, FIMU Music Festival is a great one, truly a fantastic experience.
A million thanks to everyone who has reached out, listened to, and shared my music. You are genuinely appreciated. And last but not least, much love to my husband for all his encouragement and support.
Takk fyrir að hlusta / Bistro Boy
